Federation Cultivates 'Legal Docents' to Help Protect Women's Rights
December 24, 2023
Jiangxi Women's Federation recently conducted a training session for "legal docents," who help women in urban and rural areas protect their legal rights and interests. The session was attended by cadres of women's federations, at all levels, in East China's Jiangxi Province.
During the session, a legal professor conducted a lecture to promote information about the revised Law on the Protection of Rights and Interests of Women. Organizers also invited experts to give lectures on national security, preventing and resolving marital and family disputes, protecting women and children's rights, and handling public complaints.
Cadres with the women's federations, at the city-, county- and primary-levels, shared their experiences in raising public awareness of laws, helping women protect their rights and resolve their disputes with families, cultivating "legal docents" who serve rural women and women residents, and providing judicial aid to women in need.
Many of the trainees said they benefited from the training. They vowed to make greater efforts to better serve women, and to protect women and children's rights and interests.
